h Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued a bailable arrest warrant against the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) director general over his absence befo
re the court in
the case pertaining to a plot issue of Tahir Hussain, a retired Feder
al Tax Ombudsman Secretariat assistant director.
The SHC bench, headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar, was hearing a plea file
d by Hussain in which he stated that he had applied for the plot in category III of the employees’ society in 2001 when he was serving as assistant director in ministry of science & technology in BS 17.
He added that later he was promoted as assistant director at Feder
al Tax Ombudsman Secretariat in BS 18 so he had applied to acqui
re the plot in category II, but according to him he was not allotted the plot.
Earlier,
the court had disposed of the petition and directed FGEHF director general to look into the petitioner’s matter on merit, but according to Hussain,
the court’s directives were not complied with yet.
The DG was directed to appear befo
re the court in Wednesday’s hearing but he failed. The federal law officer informed the judges that FGEHF’s DG was intimated that he should appeare befo
re the SHC but despite it, he remained absent.
Expressing the displeasure, the bench issued a bailable arrest warrant of Rs 50,000 against FGEHF director through session judge Islamabad and adjourned the hearing till March 7.
