NOWSHERA: Police arrested 11 tribesmen in Bajaur Agency during a raid on a house in Risalpur, local sources said on Sunday.
They said the police raided the house and arrested 11 tribesmen from a house in Miskeenabad in Risalpur.
The elders were identified as Lal Saeed, his sons Shahpur, Hassan, Inam Gul and Ayaz and relatives Zahir, Ghulam, Muhammad Hazrat, Muhammad Rasool, Gulab Saeed, Waqas and Muhammad Khan.
The locals staged a protest against the arrests and blocked the Nowshera-Mardan Road for traffic. The protesters said the tribal family had visited the area to attend a funeral of one of their relatives.
The protesters dispersed peacefully after the police freed the tribesmen.
