the ambassad
ors of the Violence against Women Centre (VAWC).

s, the Punjab government named Sharmeen Obaid-C
hinoy and VAW worker Rubina Shaheen as the two ambassadors for VAWC, which would open on March 7in Multan.
The Punjab government spokesman said C
hinoy and Shaheen were picked for the position due to their services in eradicationof gender-based violence.
He further said that the aim of appointing Sharmeen Obaid-C
hinoy and Rubina Shaheen was to highlight the issues of mental, physical and economic torture of women on grassroots level.

ment of VAWC ambassadors and said that they would play an effective role in creating awareness to uplift the status of women.
